Electric Toothbrush & Oral Healthcare:
An electric toothbrush is an electronic device containing a miniature motor powered by a small rechargeable NiCad cell and capable of making oscillating motions with replaceable attachments of toothbrush head.
The miniature motor is sealed for it’s protection against damage from water. One can apply toothpaste on the toothbrush head and switch on the motor for it’s movement operations against teeth in the oral cavity. The operation of the motor is set at 2 minutes so that in one operation one can brush the teeth for two minutes.
The charging of the NiCad cells is done by keeping the electric toothbrush at the recharging base. The recently available electric toothbrush version has improvement of inductive charging. There are two separate sealed compartments in the electric toothbrush one compartment contains a transformer and the other compartment contains charging unit for the transformer.
The two compartments fit into each other to make a complete brush hand piece. Fitting of the two compartments together creates a magnetic field in one coil inducing the other coil to produce current to recharge the cell.
